A Note from Our President
Fellow Hamptonians,
First, I am humbled and honored to serve you as your next President of the National Hampton Alumni Association, Incorporated. I am a 1983 graduate of Hampton Institute. My wife Stacy (Carter) is a 1984 graduate of Hampton Institute. Our daughters, Dr. Shannon Williams and Dr. Kayla Williams, are 2009 and 2013 graduates of Hampton University, respectively. We are truly a Hampton family that values our “Home by the Sea. A proud product of the Hampton University ROTC program, I served almost 23 years in the U.S. Army as a Logistics Officer, retiring in 2006, attaining the rank of Colonel. I have worked as a defense contractor up until my retirement in 2018.
These are exciting times for the NHAA, Inc. and our university. We have a new university president that deserves our support as he moves Hampton University to the next level of excellence! As alumni, we have the opportunity to be a part of our alma mater’s continued success. Our engagement and financial support of Hampton University are as important now as they have ever been.
I ask that you share the vision to increase our alumni participation rates and overall alumni giving threefold in the upcoming year. Over the next 90 days, I am asking all alumni to make a donation of at least $18.68 to Hampton and annotate on your social media platforms #1868iGive2HU. Secondly, I ask your renewed commitment to engaging with your local chapters to support their efforts.
The newly elected board for 2022-24 is eager and ready to do our part in securing Hampton University’s place in history. With your help, we can truly take Hampton to the next level of excellence. I encourage your engagement with your local chapters and renewed dedication to giving back to Hampton University every year.
In That Hampton Spirit
